Vermouth
A flavoured and fortified wine. The majority of herbs, spices, barks, roots,
berries, seeds and petals that appear in liqueurs and bitters will be found in
vermouth in addition to countless others. Vermouths are macerated for periods
of up to 18 months, and in some instances are fortified with distilled spirit.
The dry vermouth is a pale golden colour whilst the sweet is coloured with caramel
and flavoured with sugar, 16-18% a.b.v.
